October monthly thoughts:
This is the most I’ve run (and probably the fastest I’ve run) since being diagnosed with a thyroid problem in March 2018. I know my hormone levels are not where they need to be, but I’m feeling a lot better than I was in July-September, and the more I run the more I feel like myself. I think my new dose of 167.5 mcg levothyroxine started on October 19 is giving me some more energy in the afternoons (I still get pretty tired, but less than before my second surgery and the month or so after that where my TSH was up to 16). Temperatures have finally cooled down, and overall I think I am really enjoying running these days. I don’t expect November to be nearly as many miles, but maybe I will work on getting my speed up – I’d like to be averaging 11:30/mile, but coming off of two surgeries and with my thyroid hormone not in the right place, I’m just going to have to slowly ease my speed back up.
